Asset Protection Associate

Overview

The Asset Protection Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring a secure and professional environment in the store, safeguarding associates, customers, vendors, and visitors. By adhering to company protection protocols and demonstrating professionalism, this role aims to prevent losses, reduce shrinkage, and contribute positively to store profitability through vigilant awareness, observation, and effective teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular safety patrols to maintain a secure store environment, ensuring all security mechanisms such as doors and showcases are operational and addressing issues as they arise.
• Conduct thorough investigations regarding financial or physical shrinkage incidents and report findings to store leadership, escalating internal cases to the Market Loss Prevention Manager per company guidelines. Manage investigations related to internal theft, external theft, organized retail crime, and ethics-related cases.
• Assist in emergency procedures including store evacuations in cases like fire or other crises and participate in designated store task teams to support day-to-day operations.
• Carry out external apprehensions following company policies and legal regulations.
• Collect and relay information from various sources, clearly communicating situations and investigations results to leaders and relevant parties.
• Undertake additional tasks as needed to support the evolving priorities within Asset Protection and store operations.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule, including availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, to help ensure uninterrupted store functioning and service quality.

Challenges in the Role

• Efficiently handle a high volume of tasks in a fast-moving environment, including managing overnight shifts to remain alert and productive.
• Plan work hours effectively to sustain energy and focus throughout shifts.
• Meet demands of restocking and recovery work, completing tasks accurately and within set timeframes.
• Engage in physically demanding activities, such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive tasks like stocking and product organization with attention to detail to uphold store standards consistently.

Compensation

The starting pay rate for this position is $19.35 per hour.

Eligibility and Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
• A valid Security Guard License is required.
