Overview
The Analytics Applications Support role is responsible for comprehensive management and support of Analytics and Reporting applications to ensure availability, accuracy, and prompt delivery of business, financial, regulatory, and management information reports across the Ecobank Group. This position supports data analytics, report development, application configuration, and operational processes vital for informed decision-making and adherence to regulatory standards. The role also oversees key financial processing phases, supports audit and governance activities, and enforces change and release management procedures to sustain reporting system performance.
Functioning within the Technology Operations team, the role drives reliable service delivery and continuous enhancements aligned with the bank's objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and deliver complex reports under strict deadlines.
- Offer expert operational and technical support for SAP Business Intelligence applications to Ecobank affiliates and internal units, managing the Problem Management lifecycle to meet Run the Bank objectives.
- Reduce the business impact of incidents and problems while preventing their recurrence.
- Establish and manage rigorous procedures within the Business Reporting and Analysis support function.
- Serve as a technical resource for internal and external projects.
- Manage production aspects of financial, regulatory, MIS reports, dashboards, and Web Intelligence tools.
- Support production data quality related to regulatory accounting and reporting.
- Assist in data reconciliation and MIS reporting tasks.
- Perform daily and weekly reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts.
- Collaborate closely with Infrastructure and Database teams to maintain high security and performance of the business reporting environment.
- Execute scheduled tasks and application health checks.
- Provide 24x7 production support coverage on a rotating schedule, primarily between 5:30 AM and 10:00 PM GMT, including rotational weekend duties.
- Partner with business and finance teams to define and refine reporting requirements.
- Address report discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Produce documentation on business requirements, solutions, and functional specifications.
- Design, implement, modify, and maintain reports with clear parameter and data identification for internal customers.
- Track and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements.
- Support resolution of balance mismatches and general ledger differences.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date Remedy tickets including status, ownership, root cause, and resolution details.
- Document controls, develop procedural documentation, training materials, and workflows for support activities.
- Create proactive processes to identify and mitigate issues before escalation.
- Use collected metrics to identify operational efficiency improvements alongside Technology teams.
- Compile and submit monthly reports outlining team activities to the Team Leader by the first day of each month.
- Coordinate and execute system changes, upgrades, installations, and outages according to change management protocols.
- Support weekend production activities such as BCM testing and data center power-downs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in DevOps or comparable roles involving CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Ecobank data sources, tables, and their interrelationships.
- Strong data reconciliations skills and understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Windows operating systems.
- Solid understanding of security protocols protecting confidential information.
- Demonstrated capability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines independently.
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills including root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of operating systems, programming techniques, and query development.
- Ability to devise and implement customer issue resolution strategies.
- Experience with FLEXCUBE corporate database environment.
- Capability in issue ownership, root cause determination, and remediation execution.
- Strong decision-making and critical thinking abilities.
- Mentorship and coaching competencies for team development.
- Expertise in BI universes, Dashboard, and Web Intelligence tools for creation and support of complex Business Objects reports.
- Effective organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong application support, configuration, and troubleshooting background.
- Database knowledge, including SQL querying.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Server Operating Systems (Windows Server editions).
- Ability to thoroughly understand supported applications and their underlying technologies.
- Skill in documenting and communicating technical problems and resolutions concisely.
- Composure and professionalism in high-pressure, escalated situations.
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, swings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Technical Skills
- Broad understanding of FLEXCUBE, IBPS, MOBILE APP, OMNIPLUS systems and data architectures.
- Good grasp of system architecture and client/server, internet, intranet, and extranet configurations.
- Awareness of emerging technologies and cloud services.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with version control tools like Git and platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
- Competence with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Rancher, ArgoCD, Spinnaker, or equivalents.
- Strong skills in containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or CloudWatch.
- Knowledge of security best practices including IAM, encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
Compliance and Organizational Responsibilities
- Adhere to strict information identification procedures and confidentiality standards when handling customer data in compliance with Ecobank policies.
- Maintain sound operational knowledge of financial regulatory frameworks such as the Financial Services Act.
