Job description
Role Overview
This position involves close collaboration with Business Lines (BL) and Relationship Managers (RM) to obtain and verify all essential documents and information required by AML, OFAC, and applicable local regulations such as US CIP.
The analyst will meticulously review the gathered data to confirm accuracy and currentness, conduct background checks on individuals and entities with tools including LexisNexis, World Check, Factiva, and internet resources, and perform thorough client due diligence and enhanced due diligence assessments. These efforts support review submissions to the Quality Check team.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with BLs and RMs to collect missing KYC documentation and mandatory data aligned with AML/OFAC/local regulatory requirements.
- Scrutinize incoming information from stakeholders ensuring it is accurate and updated.
- Use specialized research tools to carry out background verifications on clients and entities.
- Execute comprehensive client due diligence and enhanced due diligence to prepare documentation for compliance review.
- Keep abreast of AML, OFAC, and local regulations, interpreting them in the context of Société Générale’s policies and procedures.
- Prepare and send daily MIS reports for management’s evaluation.
- Maintain robust working relationships with BLs, RMs, and other key participants throughout the KYC process.
- Stay current with evolving policies, procedures, global minimum standards, and region-specific client requirements.
- Draft clear communication emails to compliance or sanctions teams concerning any potential screening issues.
- Utilize necessary applications and tools proficiently throughout the KYC process.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and coordinate with the Cell Manager on ad hoc requests from onshore teams before proceeding.
