Job description
Position Overview
This role involves managing and maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring adherence to regulations. The accountant provides critical financial insights that support strategic decision-making by preparing detailed reports and analyses of financial data including assets, liabilities, profits, losses, taxes, and other financial activities within the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze accounting documents and financial statements.
- Assess business operations including trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments; establish account tables and record entries accurately.
- Create, monitor, and analyze budgets, comparing budgeted versus actual costs regularly.
- Design, implement, enhance, and document accounting and recordkeeping systems utilizing current technologies.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of all financial reports and ensure compliance with procedural standards.
- Provide financial advice based on thorough analysis of operational and financial data to forecast revenues and expenses.
- Ensure that financial reports and data reflect the true economic position of the business and are accessible in real time.
- Utilize assigned software programs proficiently to generate real-time financial reports.
- Contribute to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives by participating in safety awareness and incident management in accordance with company and integrated management system policies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledgeable about financial markets and banking operations.
- Experienced in financial analysis and reporting.
- In-depth familiarity with financial management and accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably with SAP functional expertise.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance.
- Professional certification from Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) is preferred.
