About the Organization
The Goddard Riverside Community Center and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center are two prominent community-focused organizations based in Manhattan, serving approximately 30,000 residents across New York City. Their mission centers on fostering a just society where all individuals can access opportunities to improve their lives and those of their families.
Program Overview
Beacon Community Centers are located within public schools citywide and serve youth from kindergarten through age 21, as well as adults aged 22 and above, including seniors. Operating year-round beyond regular school hours—on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and summer months—Beacons provide integrated services tailored to meet local community needs. They also partner with New York City Public Schools for the Summer Rising initiative during summer.
Position Summary
The Youth Worker role involves collaborating with the Program Coordinator to engage a diverse co-educational youth group aged 6 to 13. Activities include arts, sports, fitness, group games, and field trips. Youth Workers actively participate in all daily activities, fostering a positive and creative environment that supports the social and intellectual growth of participants through Group Work methods.
Work Schedule
The position spans from July 1, 2026, through August 28, 2026, with flexible hours: weekday shifts from 6 PM to 10 PM and weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) from 3 PM to 10 PM, accumulating up to 35 hours per week.
Compensation
The role offers hourly pay at a rate of $19.
