Yard Supervisor

Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Yard Supervisor to oversee the movement of goods in and out of our premises. The successful candidate should possess strong organizational capabilities, experience in the hardware or building supply sector, and a dedication to maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Effectively organise and prioritise incoming and outgoing orders to guarantee prompt handling.
• Develop and coordinate delivery routes to maximise efficiency and fulfill customer expectations.
• Keep precise documentation of orders, deliveries, and inventory quantities.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with drivers, warehouse personnel, and customers to ensure accuracy in deliveries.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to address any issues or delays related to deliveries.
• Supervise yard activities to ensure compliance with safety protocols and corporate policies.
• Oversee safe practices during loading and unloading operations.
• Participate in devising and implementing improvements to enhance operational workflows.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrable experience in a comparable supervisor position, ideally within the hardware or building materials industry.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks concurrently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and client interaction.
• Competence in computer systems and software for inventory control and logistics planning.
• Familiarity with safety standards and best practices governing yard activities.
• Capability to manage operational pressures and solve challenges swiftly in a high-paced environment.
