Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to evaluate workplace safety.
- Monitor site operations to ensure compliance with Amazon’s safety protocols.
- Create and update safety metrics reports for team review.
- Collaborate with and provide guidance to colleagues across operations and the company on safety matters and procedures.
- Assist in implementing new safety initiatives and measures.
Typical Workday
You will be stationed on-site at one of Amazon’s logistics centers, closely observing ongoing activities. Employees will approach you during shifts with safety inquiries. Proactively identifying potential hazards before they arise is essential. You will continuously inspect the workplace and familiarize yourself with how equipment and tools are utilized, ensuring processes operate safely. You will be a key figure driving safety improvements and work directly with many teams. Alongside your routine daily and weekly tasks, you will provide safety support as needed.
About the Team
The Occupational Health & Safety (WHS) team is crucial for maintaining the physical and mental well-being of our workforce. Together with managers, partner companies, and local authorities, the team ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and that workplaces remain secure. The team includes diverse roles from safety engineers to program managers. In your role, you will contribute to developing, implementing, and upholding Amazon’s high safety standards by collaborating on projects ranging from equipment inspections to process and facility design evaluations.
Basic Qualifications
- Vocational training or experience in a relevant field.
- Experience utilizing data analysis to produce and substantiate safety key performance indicators.
- Proficient German language skills.
- Good command of English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience effectively communicating with various stakeholders, both written and through presentations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Certification as a safety specialist is an advantage.
