About the Role

Viory is seeking a highly driven and proactive Video Journalist to join the MENA desk based in Abu Dhabi. This position demands a blend of journalistic excellence and technical expertise in video editing. The successful candidate will be adept at identifying critical video segments that captivate audiences and crafting these into professional packages swiftly for client use.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit raw video footage into polished, compelling content.
• Monitor live broadcasts, identify essential moments, and compile engaging video segments.
• Create impactful headlines and scripts that highlight the significance of the footage, providing all necessary context.
• Translate soundbites, live transmissions, and other materials accurately.
• Conduct thorough research to ensure all information is factual and sourced reliably.
• Collaborate closely with Output Editors to deliver cohesive and comprehensive coverage.

Requirements

• Degree or qualification in journalism, politics, or a related field is mandatory.
• Fluency in English and proficiency in Arabic, with excellent written communication, editing, and proofreading skills.
• A positive attitude combined with excellent communication abilities.
• A proactive mindset with strong ownership of responsibilities.
• Capability to work shifts including nights and weekends.
