Position Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Video Editor to become part of our expanding Post Production team. This role involves working on varied content including nationally broadcast TV shows, feature films, documentaries, commercials, branded projects, digital campaigns, social media materials, and corporate narratives. The ideal candidate excels in storytelling with technical skill, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to succeed in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Collaboration with producers, directors, writers, clients, and other editors is essential, utilizing both traditional editing approaches and cutting-edge AI-enhanced tools to produce top-tier content.
Primary Duties
- Craft and refine video projects from initial rough cuts to final products with high quality.
- Work in partnership with creative teams, clients, and leadership to effectively realize story concepts.
- Use principles of storytelling, pacing, rhythm, and effective visual design for engaging video edits.
- Manage media assets comprehensively, including organizing, ingesting, transcoding, logging, and archiving.
- Perform sequencing of footage, audio editing and mixing, color grading, and finishing tasks.
- Design and incorporate graphics, motion graphics, visual effects, and other creative elements.
- Deliver outputs suitable for various media formats including broadcast, streaming services, online platforms, and social media.
- Maintain systematic project and media management to support smooth collaboration among editors.
- Accurate recording of editing time, project components, and deliverables within management systems.
- Adhere strictly to client confidentiality and information security protocols.
- Integrate AI-driven creative and workflow tools to boost efficiency without compromising production quality.
- Keep up-to-date with editing trends, new technologies, AI tools, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in workflows and feedback.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of professional experience in video editing.
- Preferred bachelor's degree in Film, Video Production, Media Communications, or a related discipline.
- Robust portfolio and demo reel evidencing storytelling and editing competencies (submission of demo reel is mandatory).
Technical Proficiencies
- Proficiency with Avid Media Composer, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite including After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, and Media Encoder.
- Experience with DaVinci Resolve and management of media and post-production workflows.
- Understanding of broadcast, streaming, digital, and social media content delivery standards.
- Familiarity with handling multiple camera formats, codecs, frame rates, resolutions, and file management.
Additional Preferred Expertise
- Knowledge of AI-powered tools supporting workflows across text, audio, image, and video production.
- Skills in motion graphics, visual effects, 2D animation, 3D object manipulation, and basic scripting within After Effects.
- Experience editing content across diverse formats including television, documentary, commercial, branded, corporate, and digital media.

Work Schedule and Location
This is a full-time position with a schedule typically Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Eastern Standard Time. The role is based in Lexington, KY, with preference for in-person work but open to remote arrangements for highly qualified applicants. Occasional work during evenings or weekends may be necessary to meet production demands.
