Transport Officer

Role Overview

The Transport Officer is a full-time position located in Tema, Greater Accra Region, responsible for managing and overseeing the company's transportation functions. This includes scheduling and coordinating vehicle movements to ensure prompt delivery of products and services while monitoring driver compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and organize vehicle schedules and routes to optimize delivery efficiency.
• Supervise driver performance and adherence to transportation regulations and safety guidelines.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance calendars and ensure timely servicing of fleet vehicles.
• Keep detailed and accurate transport records and handle all related documentation.
• Communicate and coordinate with internal departments and external partners to support logistics operations.
• Address and resolve transport-related delays or issues promptly and effectively.
• Identify opportunities to improve transportation routes and reduce operational costs.
• Generate regular reports for management detailing transport activities and performance.

Qualification and Skills

• Proven expertise in logistics management, including route planning and fleet coordination compliant with local transport laws.
• Experienced in shipping and procurement processes such as documentation management, vendor liaison, and expense optimization.
• Strong customer service aptitude for managing and communicating with stakeholders professionally.
• High organizational skills with keen attention to detail and time management capabilities.
• Competency in basic computer software and transport management systems.
• Ability to operate effectively in a busy on-site environment in Accra and multi-task within cross-functional teams.
• Prior experience in transport, logistics, or operational roles within Ghana is preferred.
• Educational background in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is advantageous.
