Trainee Manager

Overview

This full-time position of Trainee Manager at Centra in Rathnew, County Wicklow offers an opportunity to support the store management team and gain comprehensive departmental experience across the store’s operations.

Candidate Profile

• Approximately 1 year of retail experience is preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Word
• Experience handling cash and tills is considered beneficial
• Knowledge of fresh food handling and management
• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities
• Ability to delegate tasks effectively
• High motivation supported by a solid work ethic
• Commercial awareness and understanding of brand values
• Genuine enthusiasm for grocery retail sector
• Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment

Primary Responsibilities

• Uphold Centra’s brand values: Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, and Community-Focused
• Collaborate with the team to set, track, and meet sales objectives including gross and net profit margins, waste reduction, and other key performance indicators in coordination with the Store Manager
• Engage fully in all training programs and performance evaluations provided
• Ensure the store is merchandised and presented impeccably at all times, complying with current planograms and guidelines
• Correctly apply planograms and maintain the appropriate product selection in the store
• Develop knowledge and proficiency in all supply chain operations such as ordering, delivery management, stock rotation, and inventory control
• Oversee management of assigned store departments
• Embrace and adapt to new initiatives and innovative working methods
