Role summary

As a Traffic Management Operative, you will be responsible for the safe installation, upkeep, and removal of traffic management arrangements across the Greater Kolkata Area. This is a field-based position where you will set up cones, signage, barriers, and other control equipment in line with approved plans and required safety measures.

Key duties

On a day-to-day basis, you may direct traffic when needed, keep watch for hazards at work locations, and communicate effectively with coworkers, contractors, and road users. You will also carry out basic inspections of equipment and vehicles, raise incidents or concerns promptly, and make sure all activities follow local rules and company processes.

Working conditions

This role may require flexibility to work varied shifts, including early starts, evening hours, weekends, and tasks performed in changing weather conditions.

Qualifications

• You should be able to interpret traffic management plans, site arrangements, and safety guidance correctly.
• A strong understanding of road safety and the ability to spot and reduce risks is important.
• Good communication and teamwork are needed to work smoothly with supervisors, crew members, and outside partners.
• You must have enough physical stamina to manage manual duties such as lifting, carrying, and placing equipment.
• Dependability, timekeeping, and a practical, safety-focused approach to solving problems are essential.
• You need to be willing to work on-site in the Greater Kolkata Area and adjust to changing work settings and schedules.
• Experience in traffic management, construction, or a similar area is helpful but not required.
• Local traffic-management or road-safety licences/certifications, or a willingness to obtain them, will be considered an advantage.
