About the Company
YP SG PTE LTD recently established as the trading and marketing division of Young Poong Corporation (YPC), a diversified business group listed on the Korea Exchange (KOSPI). YPC has operated one of the largest zinc smelters worldwide since the 1970s, and the YP brand is recognized on the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Role Overview
This full-time, onsite role based in Singapore involves supporting daily trading activities involving multiple metal products. The professional will manage trade execution, documentation accuracy, and collaborate closely with traders, counterparties, external vendors such as warehouses and forwarders, alongside internal teams to resolve any trade-related issues. This position is pivotal in ensuring operational efficiency and mitigating risks.
Key Duties
- Organize, allocate, and execute cargo operations promptly with suppliers.
- Communicate proactively with suppliers and customers across various regions to anticipate and address shipment delays, preventing operational downtime.
- Provide regular updates and alert management regarding ongoing matters and potential risks.
- Maintain and update a daily Position Summary for trades under management, including entering new trades, adjusting prices, and associated costs, and ensure timely, accurate monthly P&L reconciliation and reporting to headquarters and management.
- Handle inventory management by coordinating externally to verify stock levels.
- Demonstrate familiarity with Incoterms, Letters of Credit, and warehouse releases.
- Manage all supply chain documentation, including customs processes and financial instruments such as Letters of Credit; perform meticulous self-checks before forwarding documents to Trade Finance for verification. Manage invoicing and internal payment requests related to suppliers.
- Monitor pricing, manage customer declarations, and communicate timely updates to traders and relevant internal departments.
- Comply with internal standard operating procedures while contributing actively to operational improvements.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in commodities trade operations, preferably within metals.
- Minimum education level: Diploma.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to multitask, escalate issues appropriately, and resolve problems effectively.
- Detail-oriented, diligent, proactive, and capable of working independently.
- Quick learner with a clear mindset, collaborative attitude, and strong sense of accountability.
- Able to meet deadlines and adhere to set objectives.
- Capable of handling pressure and overtime when necessary.
