About the Role
Join the team at Haycocks Station as a Tractor Driver General, where your practical skills will directly contribute to our farm's continued success. Located on a vast 6,242-hectare property featuring sheep, beef, and deer livestock, you will manage and maintain a fleet of four John Deere tractors along with associated equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain farm tractors and machinery to support daily farm activities.
- Perform duties such as feeding out, gravelling and grading roads, heavy rolling, mowing, transporting fencing gear, and ensuring fertiliser and seed supplies are maintained.
- Support general farm upkeep and undertake additional tasks as needed.
- Collaborate within a close-knit team of seven to maintain property and assets effectively.
- Work independently with flexibility to prioritize changing activities while upholding safety, animal welfare, and environmental standards.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience handling farm tractors and agricultural machinery.
- Ability to work autonomously and adjust to evolving task priorities.
- Commitment to health and safety, animal care, and environmental compliance.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with managers, colleagues, contractors, and suppliers.
- Accurate record-keeping and reporting skills, with willingness to learn new systems.
- Enthusiasm for training and guiding new employees.
- Possession of a valid New Zealand driver's licence is mandatory.
About Pāmu Landcorp and Haycocks Station
Pāmu Landcorp is a State-Owned Enterprise operating over 110 farms across New Zealand, dedicated to pioneering sustainable and innovative farming solutions. Haycocks Station stretches 37km along the Mavora Valley, balancing highly productive river terraces with extensive tussock hill country. It supports about 39,000 stock units, including Romney sheep, Angus cattle, and red deer, providing livestock to finishing farms.
