Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Regional Sales Manager, the Territory Sales Representative role focuses on expanding revenue in Saskatchewan primarily through new business development. This field-based position requires proactive prospecting efforts (around 80% of role time) alongside strategic management of existing accounts (20%) across commercial, agricultural, and residential sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed sales and profit margin goals within diverse market segments including commercial, agriculture, and residential.
- Source and develop new business opportunities such as construction, agricultural operations, and industrial clients.
- Stay informed of market activities specifically around Saskatoon, Regina, and nearby areas to approach potential projects before they are awarded.
- Create and implement targeted sales strategies, prepare proposals, and successfully close deals.
- Establish and strengthen customer relationships via consistent follow-ups and solution-oriented sales techniques.
- Coordinate with operations and internal teams to ensure the delivery of prompt and accurate customer solutions.
- Maintain thorough sales tracking through reports, pipeline oversight, and margin evaluation.
- Keep updated on propane usage, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Complete administrative tasks including CRM updates, expense claims, and sales paperwork.
- Travel across Saskatchewan with occasional overnight stays as required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in outside sales within sectors such as construction, agriculture, energy, mining, or oilfield.
- Deep knowledge of the Saskatchewan market, especially Saskatoon and Regina, with a talent for anticipating project opportunities in advance.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, cold calling, and securing new clients, adept at managing diverse commercial customer relationships.
- Technical understanding of propane and its practical applications used in sales discussions.
- Experience handling varied product lines and tailoring sales approaches to different customer needs like crop drying and temporary construction heating.
- Proficient in CRM tools for managing sales pipelines and customer data.
- Skilled in forming and executing sales strategies that align with business goals and client requirements.
- Strong negotiation skills and business acumen to address challenges and offer clear, workable solutions.
- Highly organized, capable of juggling prospecting, account management, and administrative responsibilities efficiently.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams to deliver seamless customer service from proposal to execution.
- Self-driven and comfortable operating independently in a field-based role.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
