Tele-Remote Operator Trainer

Position Summary

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking skilled Tele-Remote Operator Trainers to join our Underground Mining Operations team. These professionals will remotely operate underground mobile equipment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity while advancing automation and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Operate tele-remote underground machines such as Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) loaders and haul trucks following established underground procedures.
• Perform pre-operation inspections and promptly report any equipment defects or abnormalities.
• Use tele-remote systems and onboard technologies to monitor equipment performance continuously.
• Maintain production targets with adherence to safety standards and protocols, including Ground Control, Traffic Management, and Critical Risk Management.
• Ensure clear communication with Mine Control, Supervisors, and Maintenance teams.
• Report hazards, incidents, and equipment concerns immediately.
• Participate actively in shift handovers, toolbox talks, and ongoing continuous improvement programs.
• Keep accurate production and operational documentation.
• Conduct towing and recovery operations when necessary.
• Provide coaching and mentoring specifically for trainees operating LH307, LH410, and LH514 Sandvik Loaders including remote operation techniques.
• Support training and development activities to enhance trainee skills.
• Deliver technical and practical assistance across various underground operational areas to boost productivity and reduce costs by promoting sound operational practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Post-secondary qualification in Mining or a related technical field supported by practical mining experience.
• Experience in underground mining automation systems.
• Strong skills in time management, scheduling, and operational planning.
• Competence in hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Minimum five years’ experience as a tele-remote loader operator within large-scale underground mining environments.
• Proven ability to maintain production rates of 400 tonnes per hour on LH410 remotes across 12-hour shifts.
• Demonstrated proficiency in training operators on tele-remote loader operations.
