Role overview
A Dublin-based employer is looking to add a Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer to its expanding team on a permanent full-time basis. This position supports the production of electronic goods through third-party manufacturing partners, with a strong emphasis on keeping manufacturing efficient, maintaining product quality, protecting supply continuity, and helping launch new products into production successfully.
What you will do
- Act as manufacturing engineering support for contract manufacturers.
- Contribute to new product introduction activities and production changeovers or transfers.
- Investigate and close out manufacturing, quality, and production-related issues.
- Own engineering change handling and keep manufacturing records and documentation current.
- Spot risks affecting component supply and manufacturing, then work to reduce them.
- Lead improvements to manufacturing processes and initiatives aimed at lowering cost.
- Assist with development and validation of production test solutions.
- Work closely with teams across engineering, procurement, planning, and operations.
Required background
- A degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering is needed.
- At least 5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or contract manufacturing.
- Hands-on exposure to NPI and manufacturing support work is required.
- Strong analytical problem-solving ability and solid project management skills are important.
- Experience partnering with internal functions and external suppliers is expected.
- The role requires flexibility to travel when necessary.
Preferred experience
- Previous involvement in manufacturing transfers.
- Understanding of component lifecycle management.
- Background in cost-reduction work and continuous improvement projects within manufacturing.
