The Supply Chain & Logistics Manager will manage the complete lifecycle of materials, overseeing everything from procuring raw materials like sheet metal and hardware to optimizing inventory in the warehouse and ensuring punctual delivery of finished products to clients. This role is vital to guarantee that the manufacturing floor consistently has sufficient critical materials while keeping inventory costs low. The ideal candidate will combine strategic insight and analytical skills to negotiate bulk raw material pricing, handle vendor lead times effectively, and streamline domestic and international shipping processes for large finished enclosures.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure raw materials such as sheet steel, pipes, and powder coat chemicals, ensuring cost-effective pricing and favorable contracts.
- Maintain balanced inventory levels of raw materials and hardware by utilizing ERP/MRP systems to avoid production delays and minimize excess storage overhead.
- Manage supplier performance by regularly assessing vendor reliability, delivery times, and material quality, and develop backup supplier options to reduce risk.
- Oversee warehouse activities including receipt of raw materials, secure storage, and efficient preparation and distribution of materials to the cutting and assembly departments.
- Work closely with Sales and Production Operations teams to forecast material requirements based on future project pipelines and historical production volumes.
- Ensure all shipment documentation, customs clearances, and freight regulations are properly handled for client deliveries to maintain compliance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Distribution, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Bring at least five years of experience managing supply chain and logistics, preferably within metal fabrication, industrial manufacturing, or large-scale hardware assembly settings.
- Demonstrate advanced expertise using ERP/MRP software systems (such as SAP or Oracle) and inventory management tools.
- Exhibit strong negotiation skills, data-driven demand forecasting, contract management capabilities, and comprehensive knowledge of freight logistics.
- Proficient communication skills in English or Arabic.
