Role Overview
The Supplier Table Engineer (STE) at Stellantis located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, plays a crucial role within Manufacturing and Plant Quality departments. This role manages the Supplier Table process and oversees Supplier Table Inspectors, fostering strong collaboration across salaried and hourly staff, assembly plants, and corporate divisions. The STE leads projects aimed at validating product conformity on questionable materials and enhancing product quality to surpass customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct Supplier Table Inspectors to promptly address material quality issues.
- Coach Inspectors on sorting and documenting all supplier nonconformance cases.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of Supplier Table Tracking and process documentation.
- Support Supplier Operations by monitoring company systems to ensure permanent corrective actions and issue resolutions.
- Review and validate all supplier nonconformance tickets for correctness.
- Inspect GD&T, gauging, and parts for conformance with specifications.
- Provide technical support bridging Engineering and Manufacturing on internal quality matters.
- Coordinate proactive inspections on critical components based on historical failure data.
- Communicate effectively through presentations and analyses to support meetings and audits at all company levels, including senior leadership.
- Provide daily leadership and oversight to Supplier Table Inspectors ensuring adherence to quality standards and effective handling of nonconformances.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution. Other engineering degrees accompanied by relevant experience will be considered.
- Proven presentation and public speaking skills.
- Experience utilizing problem-solving methodologies and tools.
- Demonstrated coaching and teaching capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-driven, energetic, hands-on leader with high integrity.
- Ability to perform under high-pressure conditions managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a relevant technical discipline.
- Certification as a Reactive Green Belt or Black Belt in process improvement.
- Prior experience in an automotive manufacturing environment with unionized labor.
- Experience in supplier operations or work at automotive industry suppliers.
- Leadership experience including supervisory, management, team leadership, or project management roles.
Additional Information
This position fills an existing vacancy. The salary ranges from $75,000 to $95,000 annually.
