Morpho is a prominent Decentralized Finance (DeFi) lending protocol supported by investors such as a16z crypto, Paradigm, Ribbit Capital, and others. It aims to create an open credit network accessible worldwide, providing optimal financial terms. The platform currently manages deposits in the billions and is trusted by major institutional clients and leading crypto exchanges like Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken. Morpho is rapidly expanding its contributor team to become the global open credit network.
Role Objective
This position is dedicated to making Morpho the leading provider of vault products within the DeFi space. The role entails end-to-end ownership of the Vaults vertical—from the user-facing application to the underlying protocol layer—and establishing strategic partnerships with growing external vault providers.
Location
The role is based in Paris or can be performed remotely within a time zone range of GMT -5 to GMT +2 to ensure collaboration with the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the product roadmap for Morpho Vaults encompassing the full stack from UI to protocol, aiming to increase vault deposits and simplify user earnings.
- Lead Morpho's vault strategy, coordinating with teams in engineering, partnerships, integrations, legal, and go-to-market to deliver a superior product experience.
- Establish and manage a comprehensive customer research program targeting trading desks, institutional clients, curators, and depositors to gather deep insights and guide internal decision-making.
- Formulate and implement strategies to expand relationships with external vault providers and cultivate shared opportunities that enhance the vault ecosystem and Morpho’s growth.
- Work closely with the protocol team to identify objectives and research directions for the forthcoming iteration of the vault protocol.
- Manage regulatory and legal complexities around vault products, collaborating with the legal team to influence product and technical choices for robustness.
Performance Milestones
- Within the first month: Develop an in-depth understanding of the vault landscape, engaging key stakeholders including curators, vault infrastructure providers, and depositors.
- Within three months: Launch initial roadmap initiatives that significantly increase vault deposits, formalize strategies for partnerships with external providers, and establish a research framework that aligns with protocol development goals.
Required Experience and Skills
- More than five years of product management experience with a history of delivering widely used products.
- Significant background in finance and/or cryptocurrency, with either a traditional finance foundation augmented by crypto knowledge or practical experience creating crypto or DeFi products.
- Capability to manage product development across all layers from user experience to protocol architecture.
- Comfortable navigating legal and regulatory frameworks in financial products.
- Able to thrive in rapidly evolving and ambiguous environments.
- Excellent asynchronous communication skills.
- Demonstrates high autonomy and ownership without requiring close supervision.
- Possesses a team-oriented approach with humility and low ego.
