Job Overview
The Solar O&M Project Manager is tasked with managing the operational performance, monitoring activities, and maintenance coordination of Tarshid’s solar photovoltaic (PV) projects during the operations and maintenance phase after project handover. The role ensures solar assets meet or exceed performance targets through diligent monitoring, technical evaluations, collaboration with ESCOs and contractors, and addressing technical challenges promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously track solar power generation against guaranteed and expected benchmarks.
- Analyze performance data to detect operational issues or deviations from expected generation.
- Collaborate with ESCOs and contractors to investigate and solve technical problems impacting output.
- Review operational information, alerts, and monitoring interfaces to uphold system stability and availability.
- Assist in technical evaluation of system changes, upgrades, and optimization prospects.
- Ensure diligent O&M procedures for individual and aggregated solar portfolios.
- Contribute to technical assessments of project handover documentation, warranties, performance guarantees, and as-built records.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant certifications such as solar PV, renewable energy training, PMP, NABCEP, or PVsyst training are advantageous.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in solar PV systems, renewable energy operations, or solar asset performance management.
- Professional proficiency in English required; fluency in Arabic is mandatory.
- Strong communication skills adaptable to multicultural work environments.
- In-depth knowledge of solar PV technologies including design, installation, operation, and maintenance of PV modules, inverters, mounting systems, cabling, monitoring, and protection equipment.
- Expertise in solar performance analysis, generation optimization, degradation effects, and understanding of monitoring systems such as SCADA and IoT-based analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with contractual obligations concerning performance guarantees, generation targets, and O&M requirements.
- Experience with portfolio aggregation concepts for bundled solar programs.
