Software Support and Tester - ERP Applications

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Software Support and Tester to join our ERP software team, based in Sharjah, UAE. This role involves providing direct support to users of our ERP system, diagnosing and resolving software issues, and performing thorough testing of ERP modules to ensure product quality and reliability.

Primary Responsibilities

• Offer software support to clients utilizing our ERP application.
• Analyze and understand user-reported problems, delivering appropriate solutions or assistance.
• Conduct comprehensive testing of software updates, new functionalities, and bug fixes prior to release.
• Identify, replicate, and document software defects effectively, reporting them to developers clearly.
• Develop and maintain detailed test cases, scenarios, and documentation for testing procedures.
• Execute manual testing across various ERP modules and evaluate business process workflows.
• Manage and update tasks and issues within project management and bug tracking systems.
• Collaborate closely with programmers, implementation personnel, and customers to address software concerns.
• Confirm bug resolutions and ensure existing features function correctly after fixes.
• Keep accurate records of customer issues, testing outcomes, and solutions provided.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in ERP software support, testing, or related business application domains.
• Sound knowledge of fundamental ERP modules including Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Accounts, and Warehouse operations.
• Strong grasp of business workflows and client needs within ERP contexts.
• Hands-on experience with manual testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in identifying and documenting software bugs clearly.
• Experience utilizing issue-tracking and project management tools such as YouTrack, Jira, or Trello for task creation, bug reporting, progress updates, commenting, and follow-ups.
• Excellent communication abilities with both customers and technical teams, along with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic familiarity with SQL queries is preferred.
• Knowledge or exposure to automation testing tools is advantageous.
