Role Overview

We seek software engineers passionate about constructing impactful software platforms serving millions of users. Collaborating closely with design, product, and engineering peers, you will develop sophisticated tax features that support and retain high-profile customers on Stripe Tax.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage full project lifecycles: scoping, designing, implementing, and deploying features with minimal supervision.
• Analyze complex customer requirements to identify opportunities that drive significant business results.
• Engage collaboratively with cross-functional teams including product, design, infrastructure, marketing, and operations.
• Investigate and resolve production issues promptly to enhance service reliability and operational health.
• Plan and deliver on both immediate and strategic engineering goals.
• Promote and maintain engineering best practices concerning design, security, and quality standards.

Basic Qualifications

• Over two years of professional software engineering experience (excluding internships/co-ops).
• Proficient coding capabilities in any programming language; the interview process is language-neutral.
• Effective collaborator capable of working across multidisciplinary teams and supporting peers.
• Self-driven with a strong sense of autonomy and entrepreneurial mindset.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders across disciplines.
• Motivated to work as a versatile engineer across different technology stacks to address diverse challenges and enhance user experience.

• Experience collaborating directly with customers and influencing product direction.
