Job description
About the Opportunity
This is a contract-based Skilled Labourer position, working closely with mechanical fitters on water treatment sites. The role is based out of Barnsley and primarily involves fieldwork at various locations, travelling with a company-provided van alongside a fitter or supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Support maintenance and repair work at multiple water treatment facilities as directed by mechanical fitters.
- Assist with installations, troubleshooting, and general labour tasks on site.
- Participate in safe and compliant working practices at all times.
Requirements
- A valid CSCS Card is essential for site access.
- Confined Space Certification is required — training can be arranged if you do not possess this qualification.
- Practical ability and willingness to learn technical site tasks.
Training
Full training will be offered regarding the specific site work and responsibilities.
Contract Details
- Contract commences on 3rd August and will last for 20 weeks.
- Role is paid door-to-door—pay covers both travel and on-site hours.
- Standard pay is £16–£17 per hour, depending on your experience level.
- Work exceeding 8 hours per day, including travel, is compensated at time-and-a-half.
