Job Overview
We are seeking a Shipping Coordinator (Analyst I) to join our operations team in Riyadh. This role is focused on managing inbound shipments, ensuring smooth logistics execution, and optimizing supply chain operations within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, schedule, and oversee all incoming shipments via air, ocean, and courier to guarantee on-time delivery.
- Liaise with suppliers to confirm pickup dates, prepare shipping documentation, and ensure adherence to routing guidelines.
- Monitor shipments during transit, detect delays early, and execute corrective strategies to mitigate disruptions.
- Handle import/export documents such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Act as the main logistics contact for suppliers throughout the shipping process.
- Assess carrier effectiveness based on pickup and delivery punctuality, damage rates, and invoice accuracy, and provide necessary feedback.
- Address discrepancies including shipment damages or shortages in coordination with carriers and suppliers.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams concerning dock scheduling, receiving capability, and prioritization for unloading operations.
- Ensure compliance of inbound shipments with international trade laws, including customs, tariffs, and denied party screening.
- Partner with customs brokers to categorize products accurately with HS codes and expedite shipment clearance.
- Evaluate freight expenses, identify potential cost-saving methods such as consolidation or changes in shipping mode, and report relevant KPIs.
- Manage claims processes for lost or damaged freight shipments.
- Propose and apply process enhancements to reduce delivery times, minimize costs, and improve shipment visibility.
- Engage in root cause analyses to resolve recurrent logistics problems.
- Keep updated with latest logistics technologies, regulations, and industry trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related discipline (or comparable professional experience).
- Between 2 to 4 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain functions, with a focus on inbound shipments.
- Familiarity with international shipping including import and export, plus domestic less-than-truckload (LTL) and full truckload (FTL) shipment handling.
- Competency with ERP and warehouse management systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Understanding of Incoterms 2020, customs paperwork, and hazmat regulations is advantageous.
- Strong analytical ability and sound decision-making even under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication aptitudes to effectively interact with teams and external vendors.
- Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational capabilities.
- Aptitude for working independently as well as collaborating within dynamic, fast-moving settings.
