Shipping and Logistics Supervisor

About the Role

Ferno-Washington, Inc. is searching for an experienced leader to manage shipping, warehouse, and logistics departments in Wilmington, OH. This role serves as the in-house expert on global trade compliance, ensuring efficient supply chain operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee teams specializing in shipping, packaging, documentation, and finished goods.
• Provide supervision, mentoring, and development to daily operational teams.
• Collaborate with Planning and Operations departments to achieve timely deliveries.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives like 5S and monitor key performance indicators to decrease landed costs.
• Manage customs documentation including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and packing lists.
• Work closely with licensed customs brokers and freight forwarders to prevent clearance delays.

Required Expertise

• Minimum five years of substantial experience in global trade compliance focusing on HTS code classifications and tariff management.
• Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, country-of-origin criteria, and Incoterms.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in supervisory or interpersonal roles.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms, carrier technologies, or global trade systems.
