SEO Content Writer

Position Overview

This role centers on crafting content that drives developers to discover and utilize our platform through targeted search queries such as "TikTok profile API" and "YouTube transcript API." You will be responsible for creating a variety of SEO-focused materials including integration guides, tutorials, comparison pages, use-case landing pages, and blog posts.

The content is managed in MDX format within our monorepo, often starting from rough outlines, internal notes, or recorded walkthroughs which you will transform into polished, publication-ready articles. Technical accuracy is verified by engineers, but you hold responsibility for clarity, structural flow, and ensuring practical usability, such as enabling a reader to successfully execute API calls from examples provided.

Collaboration and Workflow

You will collaborate closely with the engineering team who developed the APIs and support staff familiar with recurring questions. There is no separate editorial team; you function as the sole editorial authority. The environment is remote, asynchronous, and flexible with an emphasis on written output maintained in platforms like GitHub or Google Docs rather than in meetings. Communication focuses on clarifying technical points and ensuring accuracy, with occasional group calls for planning or walkthroughs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop SEO-optimized content including blog posts, long-form guides (ranging approximately from 2,000 to 5,000 words), tutorials, comparison articles, and product landing pages.
• Refine input materials such as outlines, Loom transcripts, or bullet-point briefs into thoroughly edited articles featuring functional code samples.
• Conduct keyword research and understand search intent to organize headings and internal links strategically, prioritizing user experience over manipulative tactics.
• Verify technical content including endpoint paths, parameters, response structure, and error messaging in collaboration with engineers before finalizing publications.
• Update existing documentation as platform changes, new endpoints are introduced, or competitors adjust pricing.
• Create a comprehensive internal linking network connecting various documentation, tools, comparisons, and use-case descriptions to enable deep resource exploration for readers.
• Monitor performance metrics to identify ranking and outdated content, proposing updates aligned with traffic trends and recurring support issues.

Candidate Profile

• A portfolio demonstrating experience in technical writing or B2B SaaS communications, preferably with a focus on developer audience.
• Strong grasp of SEO principles such as user intent analysis, hierarchical heading architecture, metadata optimization, and internal linking, avoiding superficial keyword stuffing or generic content.
• Ability to clearly explain concepts like REST APIs, authentication mechanisms, pagination, and error handling to competent users unfamiliar with our specific product.
• Exceptional editing skills resulting in concise, direct prose without unnecessary filler.
• Comfortable initiating precise technical queries with engineers via Slack or similar platforms to ensure content accuracy.
• Effective self-management skills suited to remote work, independently handling a content pipeline without direct supervision.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience authoring content for developer tools, data APIs, or social and marketing technologies.
• Familiarity with MDX, Markdown, or Git-oriented workflows for publishing.
• Basic understanding of social media platforms and scraping concepts, including awareness of rate limits, though hands-on coding is not expected.
• Experience creating competitive comparison or alternative product pages designed for SEO advantage.
