About SSMC

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing covering data validation, pay run, banking, payslip distribution, and post-run verification.
  • Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality of payroll for diverse employee groups including shift workers, technicians, engineers, and managers.
  • Administer multiple variable pay components such as overtime, shift, transport, meal, and site allowances, as well as attendance, production incentives, retention bonuses, and other reward schemes.
  • Review and update payroll inputs including employee data changes, onboardings, exits, transfers, leave without pay, deductions, reimbursements, and salary adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore statutory payroll requirements such as CPF contributions, SDL, FWL, IRAS reporting, MOM regulations, and internal company policies.
  • Coordinate year-end statutory tasks including tax submissions (IR8A/AIS), CPF reconciliations, and statutory audits.
  • Maintain and improve payroll policies, standard operating procedures, internal controls, approval workflows, and audit trails.
  • Support SOX and internal control audits, external audits, and remediate payroll control deficiencies.
  • Prepare payroll accounting entries including journals, accruals, reversals, reconciliations, and monthly reports.
  • Collaborate with Finance on month-end closing, payroll cost analysis, variance investigations, cash flow planning, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Create payroll dashboards and management reports on costs, headcount changes, overtime, allowances, incentives, and exceptions.
  • Analyze root causes of payroll variances and implement preventive measures.
  • Verify and process expense claims, internship allowances, and final payments for employees leaving the company.
  • Manage petty cash receipts, prepare journal vouchers, and generate reconciliation reports for Finance.
  • Prepare final tax computations, file IR21 forms, and coordinate tax payments for departing staff.
  • Operate and troubleshoot SuccessFactors/SAP SuccessFactors payroll and HRIS systems, ensuring data integrity across payroll, time management, finance, and banking interfaces.
  • Drive process automation, workflow optimization, data quality checks, and enable self-service payroll functions.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and data privacy of employee and payroll information.
  • Provide payroll advisory services to HR, Finance, Operations, and staff regarding policies, statutory compliance, and incentive administration.
  • Handle payroll inquiries promptly and professionally, resolving issues within agreed service levels.
  • Mentor junior payroll team members to enhance team capabilities and support cross-training and business continuity efforts.
  • Contribute actively to compensation and benefits initiatives, payroll transformation projects, and continuous improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related fields.
  • At least 6 years of practical payroll experience for Senior Specialist level; 8-10+ years preferred for Principal Specialist roles, ideally in manufacturing, semiconductor, engineering, or similarly complex operational settings.
  • In-depth understanding of Singapore payroll laws and statutory requirements, including CPF, SDL, IRAS filings, MOM regulations, employment deductions, and payroll tax reporting.
  • Proficient with SuccessFactors/SAP SuccessFactors employee central modules and payroll-related data, including time and attendance systems, workflow approvals, reporting, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting HRIS-payroll data integrity and system enhancement projects highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated capability managing payroll with complex elements such as rotating shifts, overtime, shift premiums, standby/call-back pay, transport and meal allowances, attendance and production incentives, and variable bonus schemes.
  • Strong payroll accounting knowledge including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, variance analysis, audit support, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
