About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Project Control Manager to provide hands-on support in project controls, reporting directly to the Project Management and Project Controls Manager. This role is based in Dublin, Ireland, initially offered as a 12+ month contract with prospects for a long-term engagement. The position supports the development and operation of Ireland's electricity grid, specifically focusing on integrating generation infrastructures, including offshore and onshore windfarms, into the national transmission system.
Responsibilities
- Manage changes in scope, schedule, and cost by maintaining the project baseline and ensuring all modifications are properly evaluated, costed, approved, and documented before implementation.
- Administer the project change control process adhering to governance standards and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain a comprehensive Change Register to log and monitor cost-related changes, ensuring data accuracy.
- Collaborate with Cost, Schedule, and Risk Managers to assess financial impacts of project changes.
- Prepare and coordinate Change Request documentation for internal reviews and Gateways.
- Monitor the cumulative effect of changes against approved budgets and contingencies.
- Assist the Cost Manager in maintaining cost control systems, including cost breakdown structures and cost reporting tools.
- Facilitate budget and commitment tracking along with forecast updates and data reconciliation across packages and work streams.
- Work with project planners to develop and maintain schedules, including critical path analysis and progress measurement.
- Contribute to Quantitative Risk Assessments and associated reporting.
- Support cost forecasting, variance analysis, and trend reporting to management and leadership teams.
- Ensure change impacts are fully represented within cost forecasts and reporting outputs.
- Support process compliance, including preparing audit-ready documentation and responding to assurance and third-party reviews.
- Coordinate between Project Controls, Contract Management, Cost Management, Risk Management, Scheduling, and Work Package teams to ensure aligned project performance data.
- Provide data integration and regular reports reflecting schedule, cost, performance indicators, and project status for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support risk team in identifying and monitoring project risks, maintaining risk registers, and early warning systems to manage contingencies effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Professional Chartership or NFQ Level 8 qualification, along with leadership and management training.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in project controls, particularly within large infrastructure or offshore projects.
- Proficient with project controls software such as Oracle Primavera Cloud, Primavera P6, and Risk Management tools.
- Strong knowledge of change management processes and their influence on cost control and forecasting.
- Experience managing FEED-phase cost development and governance, including regulatory or staged approval process familiarity (Gateways).
- Proven track record in supporting complex cost reporting, forecasting, and data management with keen attention to detail.
- Experience in Offshore Transmission, Offshore Wind, or major regulated infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
