Overview

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the entire shipment lifecycle, liaising closely with carriers, shipping lines, and logistics partners to secure transport services.
• Track shipments diligently, guaranteeing on-schedule deliveries and providing timely updates to clients.
• Prepare and handle all necessary documentation related to shipping and customs, ensuring full compliance with local and international import/export regulations.
• Keep abreast of customs regulations, collaborate with customs brokers for seamless shipment clearances, and maintain regulatory compliance across operations.
• Serve as the main client contact point, offering shipment status information and promptly addressing inquiries and concerns.
• Manage vendor relations including freight service providers and customs brokers, negotiating competitive rates and maintaining strong partnerships.
• Proactively identify and resolve transport-related challenges, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Analyse operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate freight effectiveness, driving process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
• Stay informed on transportation regulations and best practices, ensuring all activities comply with relevant laws.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a closely related discipline.
• At least two years of demonstrated experience in freight forwarding operations.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, customs laws, and trade compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with attention to detail.
• Proven organizational skills and capability for problem-solving under fast-paced conditions.
• Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
