Job description
Role Overview
As the Senior Manager for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) specializing in Quantification & Scenario Modelling, your main responsibility will be to develop and implement the Group's quantitative risk management tools such as Cash-Flow-at-Risk (CaR), EBITDA-at-Risk, Value-at-Risk (VaR), Monte Carlo simulations, and multi-factor scenario analyses. This position bridges enterprise risk management, finance, treasury, and data analytics, aimed at converting complex risk exposures into measurable financial impacts to guide strategic planning, capital allocation, budgeting, and decisions at the Board level.
This opportunity allows you to establish and expand the Group's quantitative risk management framework from the ground up, including frameworks for Cash-Flow-at-Risk, EBITDA-at-Risk, enterprise stress testing, and scenario analyses. You will work directly with Executive Management and the Board Audit & Risk Committee providing essential quantitative insights that affect key strategic, financial, and operational decisions throughout the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead methodology development for quantifying critical enterprise risks using both top-down and bottom-up approaches, linked clearly to the Group's risk taxonomy and registry.
- Create financial impact models using statistical and simulation techniques to express risk exposures quantitatively across specified time horizons and confidence levels.
- Define assumptions, probability distributions, loss curves, and impact factors for major risk elements such as fuel prices, foreign exchange, passenger yield, cargo demand, geopolitical disruptions, regulatory changes, and operational incidents.
- Maintain a detailed risk factor taxonomy that maps quantifiable risk drivers to their business impact pathways.
- Engage with Finance, Treasury, Revenue Management, and other stakeholders to validate model inputs, calibrate assumptions, and stress-test outcomes using diverse data sources.
- Produce risk-adjusted financial analyses for Executive Risk Committee, Board Audit & Risk Committee, and senior management reports.
- Improve quantification methods continuously through benchmarking, model validation, and best industry practices, incorporating lessons from prior model performance.
- Effectively communicate quantitative risk insights to influence executive and senior leadership decisions.
- Establish Key Risk Indicator (KRI) thresholds, trigger points, and escalation protocols to integrate into risk dashboards aligned with the Group's Risk Appetite Statement.
- Design and deploy a comprehensive Cash-Flow-at-Risk system to probabilistically assess downside cash-flow across several risk scenarios.
- Develop EBITDA-at-Risk models that simulate earnings variability due to movements in multiple correlated risk factors.
- Implement Monte Carlo simulation models to analyze complex risk interactions and probabilities of financial outcomes.
- Develop stress testing and scenario analysis frameworks including single-factor, multi-factor, reverse stress testing, and emerging risk evaluations.
- Support the creation and enhancement of risk analytics dashboards featuring heatmaps, waterfall charts, distribution curves, trend analyses, and executive reporting templates.
- Contribute to embedding quantitative risk capabilities within the Group’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform such as Riskonnect.
- Set quantitative risk management standards, oversee model governance, and enforce rigorous validation procedures to ensure model robustness and reliability.
- Foster internal capability building by mentoring and coaching colleagues on quantitative risk methodologies and standards within ERM.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative or analytical disciplines such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Data Science, or Operations Research.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise risk management, financial risk, treasury risk, market risk, quantitative modelling, or risk analytics.
- More than 5 years of hands-on experience creating and operationalizing financial risk models, scenario frameworks, capital models, or enterprise stress testing in complex organizations.
- Expertise in quantitative methods like Monte Carlo simulation, probabilistic risk assessments, Cash-Flow-at-Risk, Value-at-Risk, EBITDA-at-Risk, and stress testing.
- Experience in translating risk exposures into measurable financial outcomes to aid strategic decision-making.
- Proven record of producing executive and Board-level risk reports and communicating complex analyses to senior stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of risk governance frameworks, risk appetite, ERM principles, and the Three Lines of Defence model.
- At least 4 years of leadership experience in people management.
- Aviation sector experience is advantageous but not mandatory; professionals from banking, finance, insurance, treasury, quantitative risk, and consulting are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Credentials
- Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, CFA, CQF, or related quantitative risk qualifications.
- Familiarity with quantitative modelling software including Python, R, MATLAB, SAS, @Risk, Crystal Ball, or equivalent analytical tools.
- Knowledge of Governance Risk Compliance platforms and risk analytic solutions, preferably Riskonnect.
- Background in aviation, transportation, energy, banking, insurance, investment management, or complex risk environments.
- Experience working on large ERM, risk analytics, or GRC transformation projects.
