Overview
The Strategic Communication team is dedicated to delivering effective communication and engagement strategies that promote departmental initiatives, connect Queensland communities with relevant programs, and engage customers and stakeholders through targeted messaging and diverse channels.
Role Summary
As a Senior Graphic Designer, you will play a crucial role in developing communication materials across print and digital formats that align with the business priorities and visual brand standards of the department and the Queensland Government. This position requires delivering timely, high-quality graphic design services and providing expert advice consistent with government visual identity guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Exhibit cultural competence and/or a willingness to develop it to foster an inclusive environment aligned with the Human Rights Act 2019, supporting programs and partnerships focused on sustaining cultural ties for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Offer innovative and dynamic expertise in graphic design, motion animation, and video production across multiple channels and creative projects within the Strategic Communications team.
- Manage and lead creative projects independently or collaboratively from initial concept through to completion with minimal supervision.
- Engage closely with clients to discern their vision, objectives, and audience, drawing on professional experience to provide creative and strategic recommendations that enhance deliverables beyond expectations.
- Effectively communicate creative concepts and approaches to clients and stakeholders, integrating their feedback to refine outputs and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Evaluate and contribute to analysing the impact of creative projects, considering both creative quality and audience engagement metrics.
- Maintain exemplary creative standards by mentoring and inspiring team members, cultivating an environment that promotes creativity, innovation, and excellence.
- Stay attuned to current and emerging industry trends to develop creative solutions that provide positive, informative, and engaging brand experiences appealing to target audiences and stakeholders.
- Offer specialist advice on Queensland Government corporate identity to colleagues, peers, departments, and other units as needed.
- Drive branch enhancements by actively contributing to the innovation and refinement of strategies, processes, and systems.
