Senior Full Stack Developer

About LAB3 and the Role

LAB3 is a leading Azure engineering firm in Australasia, specializing in Cloud & DevOps, Data, IoT & AI, Modern Workplace, Security, and Networks. We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our Technology Team to build internal platforms that facilitate LAB3's operations, as well as develop AI-driven applications for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete software lifecycle, from design through deployment to ongoing support, covering frontend, backend, data management, and Azure infrastructure.
• Create user-friendly interfaces using React and TypeScript, design effective APIs and backend services, implement sound data models, and oversee reliable deployments.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code and Copilot to increase efficiency while integrating large language model components like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agents, evaluation processes, and operational safeguards into deliverables.
• Develop AI-powered internal products and client applications, working within LAB3's various platforms including agent orchestration and financial operations tooling.
• Collaborate closely with consultants, architects, and clients to translate less defined business needs into tangible technical implementations and functional software.
• Maintain high engineering standards through mentoring colleagues, performing thorough code reviews, making pragmatic decisions, and ensuring strong testing, observability, and operational responsibility.

Candidate Profile

• At least five years of strong full stack development experience covering modern frontend frameworks, backend services, API development, relational databases, and cloud deployment.
• Proficient in React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Python with demonstrated capabilities in designing, shipping, and maintaining production-grade software.
• Hands-on knowledge or rapid learning potential of Microsoft Azure services such as App Services, Functions, Storage, Identity, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Current practical application of AI development tools and experience delivering features or products involving LLM integration, RAG, agents, or related AI technologies.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to engage directly with non-technical stakeholders and mentor development teams.
• Must hold full working rights and be a resident in Australia or New Zealand.
