Position Overview
We are looking to hire a highly detail-oriented and cooperative Senior Financial Analyst for a 12-month contract role with our client, located in Toronto, Ontario. This position is critical for ensuring precise corporate financial reporting, managing complex regulatory accounting requirements, and driving efficiency improvements in organizational processes. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical accounting expertise combined with the ability to convert financial data into strategic business insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and thoroughly review quarterly data inputs required for consolidated financial statements note disclosures.
- Ensure the accurate, prompt completion of routine and complex journal entries, along with comprehensive monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
- Deliver dependable financial information, analytical assessments, and operational support for electricity regulatory filings and internal management reports.
- Analyze and communicate financial results in relation to fundamental business value drivers, explaining the story behind the numbers clearly.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IFRS standards to guarantee ongoing compliance and guide the adoption of new accounting policies.
- Lead efforts to improve financial processes by assessing current workflows, re-engineering procedures, and utilizing technology to automate tasks.
- Implement and monitor risk management and internal control frameworks, ensuring controls are effectively designed and functioning.
- Facilitate meetings and collaborative projects across multiple business units, applying strong communication skills to secure timely inputs and achieve strategic goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration.
- Current Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) certification recognized in Canada.
- Minimum of five years’ progressive experience in corporate financial analysis, reporting, or equivalent roles.
