Role Overview

The Route Engineer specializing in Roads Operations & Maintenance will be based in Doha, Qatar. This individual will manage the upkeep and operational efficiency of road networks, ensuring these infrastructures meet safety standards and function effectively. The role demands organizational acumen, technical expertise, and the capability to handle several projects concurrently while maintaining excellence in quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and evaluations of designated road routes to detect maintenance requirements, defects, and potential safety concerns.
• Formulate and execute detailed maintenance strategies and schedules aimed at preserving optimal road conditions and reducing operational disruptions.
• Evaluate performance data and maintenance indicators to enhance operational efficiency and identify improvement areas.
• Collaborate with contractors and maintenance personnel to oversee repairs, resurfacing, and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Manage budgetary allocations and supervise expenses related to maintenance, ensuring adherence to quality benchmarks.
• Compile comprehensive technical reports and maintain documentation regarding road statuses, maintenance undertakings, and project results.
• Ensure adherence to Qatar's road infrastructure standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Oversee maintenance management systems by keeping project data and asset records current and accurate.
• Investigate road failures and incidents to determine their root causes and propose preventive strategies.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven background in road maintenance, operations, or civil engineering fields.
• In-depth understanding of road maintenance criteria, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
• Familiarity with maintenance management and asset management software platforms.
• Comprehensive knowledge of pavement management and road infrastructure systems.
• Awareness of Qatar’s specific road infrastructure standards along with local climate impacts.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and analytical data tools.
• Capable of autonomous working and leading multidisciplinary teams.
