Retail Associate

Role overview

The Retail Associate supports store performance by helping the team achieve sales and profit goals, delivering strong customer service, and keeping store operations running smoothly. The role is centered on creating brand loyalty, assisting shoppers effectively, and maintaining day-to-day retail standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor store sales and KPI objectives, take responsibility for individual targets, and use available resources to help achieve or exceed them.
• Deliver the brand’s customer service standards so shoppers’ expectations are met or surpassed.
• Represent the brand consistently by demonstrating its attitude and values on the shop floor.
• Apply seasonal product and brand knowledge during selling conversations.
• Explain product features, benefits, and selling points clearly to support customer needs and strengthen brand connection.
• Follow all company policies and operating procedures.
• Maintain visual merchandising and in-store communication standards.
• Receive merchandise efficiently and replenish displays so the full product range is visible on the sales floor.
• Complete cash handling and register transactions accurately and promptly.
• Help reduce loss in the stockroom and on the shop floor.
• Carry out store activities in a safe, efficient, and effective way.
• Work cooperatively and respectfully with colleagues.
• Participate in all required training and apply the learning effectively at work.
• Look for coaching and development opportunities to keep improving performance.

Relationships and authority

This role has no formal decision-making authority. Key working relationships include customers, peers, and supervisors.

Qualifications and experience

A high school education is required. Around 6 months of experience in a sports- or fashion-focused retail environment with customer and commercial exposure is preferred. The role also calls for basic numeracy, literacy, and verbal communication skills.
