About the Role

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology invites applications for a Research Communications Officer. This position is based at the Rotunda Hospital and involves supporting both the clinical project coordination and communications teams. The contract is for a specified term of up to 1 year and 4 months. The successful candidate will work primarily on a workshop series titled "Debunking the Myths-The Science behind Our Sexual Health," targeting teenage students. This initiative delivers engaging, medically-approved sexual health education through interactive workshops facilitated by medical and research experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage workshop logistics across online, virtual, and hybrid formats.
  • Create and update website content, including writing and selecting visuals.
  • Edit video materials related to offline project components.
  • Develop and oversee organic social media content and paid advertising campaigns.
  • Compose and disseminate press releases.
  • Collaborate with department members and relevant stakeholders to build communications strategies and materials.
  • Maintain professional communications with internal and external contacts.
  • Perform additional operational tasks as assigned by the Research Program Manager.

Qualifications and Experience
