Gaulin Media is advertising a remote reporting opportunity in Canada for The Epoch Times. The opening is for a journalist who can work either on a full-time basis or as a freelance contributor. The role focuses on covering stories of national importance for Canadian audiences.

What you will do

• Identify timely story ideas and present pitches related to topics of national significance.
• Build a steady flow of medium-length and longer-form articles.
• Source information directly and carry out original interviews.
• Take on reporting assignments for national enterprise pieces when needed.
• Follow the Journalism Code of Ethics along with the organization’s reporting standards.

What they are looking for

• Strong deadline-driven writing with the ability to produce clear, concise copy.
• Solid storytelling ability, especially for feature-style articles.
• Skill in breaking down complex subjects into accurate, engaging, and easy-to-read journalism.
• A bachelor’s degree.
• At least 2 years of professional reporting experience.
• Photography ability is considered an added advantage.

Work arrangement

This is a remote role that can be performed from anywhere in Canada. The journalist will collaborate remotely with an assignment editor.
