About Die Jugendherbergen - DJH e.V.
With a legacy spanning over 100 years, Die Jugendherbergen - DJH e.V. is a nonprofit association operating 44 youth hostels across the most beautiful locations in Baden-Württemberg. The Jugendherberge Mannheim International features 258 beds in 73 rooms, hosting school classes, families, and groups. Our dedicated team ensures guests feel comfortable throughout their stay.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Receptionist (m/f/d) to join our team starting August 1, 2026. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week), primarily in the early shift (06:15–14:15), on a one-year fixed-term contract initially.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage guest check-in and check-out procedures while providing continuous guest support during their stay.
- Handle contractual agreements with guests and groups.
- Perform general reception duties including correspondence, invoicing, cash handling and closure, processing bookings and reservations via standard booking platforms, and supporting the telephone switchboard.
- Advise and finalize membership agreements.
- Manage small-scale retail sales.
Qualifications and Skills
- Completed vocational training in hotel management or tourism, preferably with prior professional experience.
- Passion for hospitality combined with a structured, goal-oriented, and solution-driven work approach.
- Strong team spirit and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer skills, especially with hotel reservation systems (ideally ASSD) and MS Office applications.
- Fluency in spoken and written German and English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Willingness to work a 5-day week in shift schedules, mainly during the early shift (06:15–14:15).
