Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Dubai. This role involves detailed commercial design assessments and comprehensive management of quantity take-offs, cost estimations, and contract negotiations to support project tendering and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine tender drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and contract documentation thoroughly.
- Generate precise quantity take-offs and develop accurate cost projections.
- Assess project requirements to identify potential cost risks and opportunities that could affect budget planning.
- Solicit, review, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to optimize project expenditure.
- Compile tender pricing, summarize bids, and prepare commercial proposals for submission.
- Contribute to value engineering efforts by providing alternative cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate closely with design, engineering, procurement, and project management teams during tender phases.
- Address and resolve commercial and contractual queries with clients and consulting parties.
- Analyze contract terms to recognize and mitigate commercial risks.
- Develop cash flow forecasts and initial project budgets to support financial planning.
- Maintain comprehensive updated records of cost data and historical pricing information.
- Ensure that all tender packages meet client specifications and submission deadlines.
- Engage in pre-tender meetings and conduct site visits as needed to gather pertinent information.
- Assist in the smooth contract transfer process to the project delivery team upon contract award.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Professional accreditation such as RICS or an equivalent certification is considered beneficial.
