Role Overview
The Quantity Surveyor Civil will be tasked with preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities, conducting detailed cost estimations, and overseeing budget monitoring for civil engineering endeavors. Daily responsibilities include tracking material and labor expenses, updating cost documentation, validating contractor invoices, and aiding in tender preparation and evaluation. This role requires close collaboration with project managers, site engineers, and procurement teams to ensure cost-effective project execution while adhering to contract specifications. Additionally, the quantity surveyor will support value engineering activities, identify cost variations, prepare claims, and maintain active on-site presence at the Railway Station project location.
Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in cost control and budget management to monitor expenditures and support value engineering solutions.
- Proven experience in preparing and verifying BOQs for civil construction projects.
- Proficiency in cost planning, reporting, and forecasting to assist financial decisions with regular cost statements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of civil construction materials, methodologies, and contract frameworks such as item-rate contracts and FIDIC standards.
- Familiarity with quantity surveying tools and software, including MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation applications.
- Possession of a bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related fields.
- Strong analytical skills paired with meticulous attention to detail, enabling accurate interpretation of drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and coordination capabilities for effective teamwork with site personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Prior work experience in infrastructure, mining-related civil projects, or large-scale construction is advantageous.
