About the Role
We are seeking dedicated Quality Control Operatives to become part of our team in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, at our facility specializing in the production of various flavored syrups and sauces. This full-time position operates on a permanent basis, featuring 12-hour shifts alternating between days and nights.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct routine checks related to food safety, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and hygiene across the production floor following established site procedures and company standards.
- Document and verify critical quality inspections, ensuring record accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and that all measurements remain within required limits.
- Perform and support a range of quality control tests including sensory evaluation, viscosity measurement, pH testing, water activity, color analysis, microbiological sampling, and other quality checks as specified by the site.
- Manage label issuance, documentation, and reconciliation in accordance with site label control protocols, escalating issues when discrepancies arise.
- Assist in investigations concerning food safety, quality issues, foreign bodies, allergens, labeling errors, or GMP breaches by collecting precise data, samples, and observations.
- Support the segregation, holding, and status control of any non-conforming raw materials, packaging components, work in process, and finished goods.
- Ensure quality control records are completed accurately, legibly, and promptly during operations.
- Contribute to audit preparedness, maintain daily floor standards, facilitate shift handovers, oversee inspection programs, and assist with closing quality-related actions.
- Verify availability, cleanliness, suitability, and calibration status of QC equipment prior to use.
- Communicate and escalate quality or food safety concerns to QA Group Leads, Production Leads, and the Quality Manager.
Candidate Profile
- Strong verbal, written, and numerical communication skills with fluency in English.
- Competence in recording, interpreting, and escalating key process data accurately and effectively.
- Knowledgeable in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), allergen controls, label control systems, and proper documentation methods.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and timely records.
- Experience in food manufacturing or quality control is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Food Safety or HACCP concepts is desirable.
- Experience in production floor verification or performing positive release checks is a plus.
