About the Role
Jamaican Infrastructure Operator Limited (TransJam Highways) is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Quality & Compliance Officer. This role is key to managing the daily operations, upkeep, and contractual adherence of an essential motorway system, emphasizing high standards in quality, safety, and environmental care.
The Quality & Compliance Officer will support the Quality and Compliance Manager by executing and overseeing the Integrated Management System (IMS), which aligns with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies while improving operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform compliance inspections and internal audits across operational processes to verify conformity with IMS, contract terms, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate in reviewing and revising IMS documentation and operational workflows.
- Organize and lead induction and ongoing training sessions to uphold IMS awareness among staff.
- Conduct safety briefings and address any safety violations encountered.
- Assist in preparing audit documents and facilitate audit coordination with internal and external parties.
- Maintain comprehensive records and manage compliance-related documents to ensure accurate administrative procedures.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, effective communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to convey information clearly and engage with cross-functional teams for training and compliance purposes.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards and requirements.
- Self-motivated and collaborative approach to solving problems and working independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of Internal Auditor Certification for ISO 9001:2015 and/or ISO 14001:2015 standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in quality management and compliance, particularly in document control, conducting audits, and overseeing adherence to standards.
