Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned QC Inspector specializing in Instrumentation to join a leading Oil & Gas project based in Qatar. The role involves ensuring quality standards are upheld throughout the construction and commissioning phases of Electrical and Instrumentation systems.

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, or Telecom disciplines with expertise in quality control within multidisciplinary construction and commissioning settings.
- Preferably holds formal QC training and membership in reputable professional institutions.
- At least 10 years of QA/QC inspection experience for bachelor's degree holders or 15 years for diploma holders focused on Electrical and Instrumentation work in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Industrial construction projects, preferably with GCC experience.
- Knowledge of hazardous area management and experience with Ex-Inspection in explosive atmospheres.
- Comprehensive understanding of installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning processes for electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Familiarity with global standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and project-specific codes and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of electrical and instrumentation construction activities to confirm compliance with approved drawings, project requirements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and relevant standards.
- Oversee quality surveillance of Electrical, Instrumentation, HVAC, and Cathodic Protection systems during fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.
- Witness and document Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to ensure equipment meets quality and specification criteria.
- Inspect installation tasks including transformers, switchgears, MCCs, distribution panels, UPS, cables, field instruments, and control systems like PLC, DCS, and SCADA.
- Inspect instrumentation components such as impulse tubing, instrument hook-ups, control valves, transmitters, analyzers, junction boxes, and marshalling cabinets.
- Observe and verify testing activities: insulation resistance, continuity, grounding, loop checks, calibration, functional tests, and system acceptance.
- Assess incoming materials for compliance with specifications and approvals, checking certifications.
- Review and validate inspection records, test results, calibration certificates, and quality documentation.
- Coordinate inspection efforts with construction teams, commissioning units, contractors, and client representatives to timely resolve quality issues.
- Identify and report any non-conformities, ensuring corrective measures are enacted and closed out.
- Ensure calibration and suitability of measuring and testing equipment used in inspection.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and support adherence to Project Quality Management Systems and health and safety regulations.
