Role Summary

This position functions as the primary quality assurance engineer located in the Austin office, focusing on simulator golf technology while also supporting VR and mixed reality (MR) testing. The role demands hands-on interaction with golf simulators and direct collaboration with engineering and leadership teams for rapid feedback and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive testing across simulator, VR, and MR platforms, including end-to-end, feature, integration, and regression tests.
• Detect, record, and communicate bugs with clear reproduction instructions and evidence such as logs and device information.
• Prioritize and manage the bug backlog to ensure prompt issue resolution.
• Validate new features and ensure full hardware compatibility before releases.
• Leverage artificial intelligence tools to enhance testing efficiency, generate test cases, triage bugs, and streamline reporting.
• Perform regression test suites during major platform upgrades and cross-version comparisons.

Requirements

• Passionate golfer with an understanding of the sport’s nuances.
• Physically capable and willing to repeatedly hit real golf balls with actual clubs into nets or screens, integral to the role.
• Resident of or willing to relocate and work full-time onsite in Austin, TX.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant QA/testing experience, including work on at least one released game or interactive product.
• Ability to work independently with a remote QA manager.
• Comfortable handling VR/MR/Simulator hardware and headsets continuously during work hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing VR and MR games.
• Experience with software testing during engine or platform migrations.
• Skills in AI or programming to develop testing tools.
