About the Role
This full-time, permanent position based in Columbus, Ohio, offers the opportunity to join a dynamic company focused on environmental services with impactful work. The role involves managing procurement activities across multiple capital projects, industrial systems, operations, and commercial ventures in a fast-paced startup environment. Employees will work onsite Monday through Friday in a professional office or manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee procurement for various capital projects, ensuring timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and services.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects independently within a rapidly evolving startup atmosphere.
- Source and negotiate with vendors to maintain strong supplier relationships, optimizing pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
- Support facility operations through vendor management and service contract administration.
- Coordinate purchasing processes for field projects, including vendor onboarding, purchase order issuance, and invoice processing.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers to enhance supply chain reliability and mitigate risks.
- Forecast purchasing requirements based on business demand, inventory status, and project timelines.
- Manage logistics and freight activities, including carrier coordination and resolving shipment issues.
- Monitor supply chain risks, supplier performance, and lead times; formulate contingency plans as necessary.
- Administer vendor and service contracts through their lifecycle, ensuring compliance and managing modifications and contract closures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Finance, and Sales to support purchasing initiatives and budget adherence.
- Utilize ERP and financial systems such as Netsuite, Bill.com, and SAP to handle procurement transactions, vendor onboarding, and data management.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in purchasing, production planning, materials management, supply chain, or manufacturing settings.
- Prior experience supporting capital projects or working within industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments is preferred.
- Proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities within a startup environment with a curious and proactive approach.
- Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management capabilities.
- Highly organized with excellent communication, prioritization, and analytical skills.
- Good understanding of production and capacity planning, inventory management, and ERP systems such as Netsuite, Bill.com, and SAP.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma is advantageous.
- Self-motivated with the ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant business software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
