Project Manager

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Project Manager to oversee the execution of a Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) project based in Tura, Meghalaya. The candidate must bring significant expertise in power distribution EPC projects to independently manage all phases of project delivery, from initial planning through to commissioning. Ensuring adherence to standards of quality, safety, and schedule is critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the complete lifecycle of the RDSS project, from mobilization to final commissioning.
• Manage and supervise the construction of 11 kV HT lines, LT distribution lines, distribution transformers (DTRs), service connections, feeder segregation, and network strengthening tasks.
• Create and oversee project schedules to guarantee on-time delivery milestones.
• Liaise effectively with MePDCL officials, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, local authorities, and internal teams for seamless coordination.
• Supervise site engineering staff, supervisors, subcontractors, and labor workforce ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality benchmarks.
• Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and materials as required.
• Maintain rigorous budget monitoring and cost controls.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports including daily, weekly, and monthly updates.
• Verify subcontractor billing statements and client measurement documents.
• Ensure adherence to all safety policies and statutory regulations on site.
• Quickly resolve technical challenges and site-related issues as they arise.
• Coordinate procurement and logistics ensuring timely availability of all materials needed.
• Support project billing, documentation, inspections, testing, and commissioning procedures.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Deep understanding of 11 kV and LT distribution systems within power projects.
• Proven experience working on RDSS, DDUGJY, IPDS, Saubhagya, or rural electrification initiatives.
• Thorough knowledge of distribution transformers, poles, conductors, aerial bundled (AB) cables, underground (UG) cables, ring main units (RMUs), and switchgear equipment.
• Ability to accurately interpret electrical design drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), General Technical Provisions (GTPs), and detailed technical specifications.
• Familiarity with testing and commissioning protocols in power distribution projects.
• Competency in project scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong project management capabilities encompassing planning, resource allocation, budgeting, subcontractor/vendor oversight, risk management, progress tracking, client interaction, material logistics, contract administration, and billing verification.
• Excellent leadership qualities including decision-making, team management, mentoring, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and adhere to strict project deadlines.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
