About the Role
This position serves as the central point of management for a diverse portfolio of pharmaceutical products spanning several therapeutic areas. The Project Manager will oversee coordinated progress across development, manufacturing (both API and formulation), supply chain, and regulatory teams. Acting as the key PMO representative, the role provides portfolio visibility and controls to ensure streamlined execution across multiple concurrent product programs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain oversight and continuous tracking of multiple concurrent product pipelines and commercial portfolios at all stages from development through to launch.
- Develop and update integrated portfolio dashboards highlighting key milestones, including technology transfer, manufacturing readiness, and launch execution.
- Assist in prioritizing projects within the portfolio based on timelines, dependencies, and business impact.
- Coordinate closely with manufacturing sites (API and formulation), R&D, supply chain management, regulatory authorities, and commercial functions to ensure milestone compliance.
- Align site-level manufacturing readiness, material availability, and validation timelines with overall portfolio commitments.
- Facilitate communication and conflict resolution among stakeholders to manage project interdependencies effectively.
- Prepare detailed category-level MIS reports, health dashboards, and executive summaries for senior leadership review.
- Lead governance meetings, including weekly and monthly evaluations, guaranteeing clear tracking of actions, escalation of issues, and follow-up on decisions.
- Provide updates on launch readiness, on-time delivery metrics, and key project KPIs.
- Identify potential risks related to API sourcing, formulation scale-up, manufacturing capacity, and supply chain execution, ensuring timely escalation and mitigation.
- Support mitigation strategies and ensure their completion through stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee end-to-end launch processes including manufacturing and packaging readiness and supply planning.
- Coordinate with global and corporate project managers to synchronize efforts across different markets.
- Manage external collaborations with CDMOs, testing laboratories, and vendors to meet project timelines and documentation standards.
- Ensure compliance with PMO processes, documentation requirements, and reporting protocols.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- MBA or PGDM in Pharmaceutical Management from a Tier 1 institute.
- 5 to 8 years of project management or PMO experience in pharmaceutical organizations.
- Hands-on experience in both API and formulation manufacturing environments with demonstrated cross-functional coordination.
- Experience managing or supporting multiple product portfolios.
- In-depth understanding of product development lifecycles, regulatory milestones, and commercial launch procedures.
Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in portfolio tracking, MIS preparation, and executive-level reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel) and data analytics tools.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple manufacturing and corporate teams.
- Experience with project planning software such as MS Project, Primavera, or advanced Excel tracking.
- Ability to manage several simultaneous projects featuring complex interdependencies.
- Analytical approach focused on identifying risks and monitoring resolution progress.
