About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead major building projects across Cork and the Munster region for a leading Irish contractor. This permanent, full-time position involves driving projects from initial mobilisation through to successful handover, overseeing all critical aspects including safety, quality, design, and commercial activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead building projects throughout their lifecycle, from mobilisation to completion and handover.
- Develop and manage project programmes, lookahead schedules, and recovery plans.
- Coordinate activities with subcontractors, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Manage safety, quality assurance, design compliance, and commercial aspects of projects.
- Handle RFIs, technical queries, procurement processes, and identify and mitigate project risks.
- Drive compliance with BCAR regulations, handover procedures, and project close-out standards.
- Lead and mentor site teams including engineers, site managers, quantity surveyors, and safety personnel.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience managing projects as a main contractor in Ireland or the UK, particularly large-scale building projects.
- Strong abilities in programme management and subcontractor coordination.
- High commercial awareness and the confidence to engage with clients directly.
- Background in construction, engineering, or relevant trades.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams including engineers, site managers, QSs, and safety staff.
- Willingness and ability to work across Cork and the broader Munster region.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or residential sectors is a plus, though candidates from commercial, healthcare, education, life sciences, data centres, mixed-use, or other major construction sectors are also encouraged to apply.
