Role Overview
Astek Australia seeks a Project Manager based in Melbourne to oversee and support client projects within the government and social sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of project lifecycle including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure for government and social sector initiatives.
- Establish comprehensive project implementation plans, define timelines, set milestones, and allocate resources to ensure objectives are met efficiently.
- Collaborate extensively with government departments, stakeholders, project teams, and implementation partners to ensure effective project delivery and supervision.
- Maintain project documentation including detailed plans, timelines, and resource distribution specifically for data and analytics projects.
- Supervise data gathering, analysis, and visualization efforts to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Prepare and review progress reports, presentations, and status updates for senior management and departmental evaluations.
- Identify potential risks, challenges, and interdependencies within projects; formulate risk mitigation strategies to guarantee smooth implementation.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 10 years of proven experience managing projects, particularly within government environments and PMU operations.
- Possess professional certification in project management such as PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience managing large-scale projects in trading environments; banking or utilities sector background is advantageous.
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently and lead teams effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in collaboration and project management tools including JIRA, Confluence, and JAMA.
